Drinking Water

One of the best things you can do to help your body is to drink 8 glasses of water a day. You may have heard this a million times but the fact of the matter is that it is true. By drinking 8 ounces of water a day it will keep your skin hydrated and the chance of dry skin will decrease the more water your drink. So that is one good reason to drink water.Another great reason to drink water is for nail care, by keeping your water your nails will not break so much and it will keep them healthy.
Some of the other health benefits of water is that water counts for 60 percent of your weight. Every single system is dependant on water. The digestive system, nervous system and the circulatory system all need water to function. If you dont have enough water in your system it can begin to affect the function of certain organs like the kidneys. You may not realize you actually lose water through breathing, perspiration and urine and bowel movements. When you lose water you have to make sure that you replace it. You can do that by drinking water directly or by eating or drinking foods that contain water.
When you are doing certain activities you need to keep the fluids coming. The most common activity is exercising. As you are exercising you are sweating which in turn you are losing water so you must drink water before, during and after exercising. It will be the only way to retain the water and keep up with replenishing it. If the weather is extremely hot outside, you have to keep up the fluid intake. The same theory applies here as it did with exercise. When you sweat you lose water and you have a good chance of dehydration and there for you must keep up with the intake.
When you are sick you definitely need to drink many fluids. If you have a fever, vomiting and diarrhea, all of these cause your body to lose water. If you are
pregnant or breast feeding, you need to stay hydrated, it is very important to the baby that you stay hydrated. When women breast feed you will lose more water during that process so you need to keep the water coming.
Some signs of dehydration will be mild to excessive thirst, tiredness, headaches, dry mouth, little urination; you may feel dizzy or light headedness. To avoid these symptoms or worse you have to make sure that you are getting enough water or foods with water. There are many people that get bored with water, it has no taste or it begins to taste like something after a while. You can drink bottle water sometimes it does taste a little better than tap. You can also add a diet powder like Crystal Light or Sugar Free Kool Aid.
Sometimes you just want to fill the requirement so you force down more water and more water, if you have to do that then you may stop drinking water. There is nothing wrong with adding a little flavor to your water.
